What a Year!

What a year.  2012 is nearing its end and 2013 will be starting.  I am sitting here remembering and think of all I have to be thankful for.

1. This year I married my Julie.  I have looked for all my life and God brought her to me and I am looking forward to what God will do in the next year.

2.  In 2012 I was released from my ministerial home for the last 5 years in Cumberland, MD. Bishop Matthew Ellis who was and is my spiritual father, taught me so much about ministry that I am forever grateful to him and his awesome wife Jennifer Ellis, who by the way is the Senior Pastor at her own church in West Virginia and a awesome pastor in her own rite.  I met them 10 years ago last week and my life has never been the same.  Seeing the growth in them since 2002 till now is amazing.

3.  I was sent with a mandate from God to start ministries here in Hawaii.  It started a little rocky but God sent Bishop Miller in my way and I came along side and got back together with Ministry to the Military which amazingly enough is where I started in 1999 in Japan. I am looking forward to what is in store for the next year.

4.  I am building a Youth ministry from scratch, this is scarey and intimidating.  I am very uncomfortable with youth but I know God has something planned for this.  I was asked and I will stretch and become the man God wants me to be.  Julie is going to be the Ladies Ministry and she is looking forward to it also.  We are gelling as a team and she is defiantly the woman that can both put up with me and handle me lol.

5.  I know I normally don't do new years resolution but I feel for next year I resolve to grow to be the Husband, the  Man and the minister that I am called to be.

So for now from Julie and myself, God bless and a very happy new year.

                                                  Love:

Christmas giving

As I sit here on Schofield Chapel serving single military, I am awed at the people who will give their Christmas. It's good I am excited at their willingness to get up on Christmas morning and not open gifts yet or eat, but serve.
I hope everyone is having a great Christmas Mele Kalikimaka and happy new year!

Where is the cry

I have noticed that there have been several shootings lately. There have been 19 people killed in the last 2 weeks. The left are wanting to take weapons from us because of this. I am outraged at the shootings as anyone would be. But I find something hypocritical about this. In the last 2 week more than 52,000 people were murdered, yet I hear no outrage about it. No one wanting to do something about this. 52000 abortions were performed, many more deaths than the shooting, owning guns are rights in the US. The left howls with rage when someone uses a gun yet when this many are murdered they refuse to think about taking away this so called right. People get your heads right you strain against a gnat. Be careful when people are outraged and want to take your rights yet refuse to touch their own golden calfs.

Hawaii

This has been a long week.  I saw God move in powerful ways. Julie and I knew that we were getting ready to move to Hawaii. I decided to post on Facebook and see if someone could use our van. As soon as I put it out I was notified from my home town for a young man named Cody that needed a van. With in 3 days God provide someone to come to get it, and drive it back to Ga. The night before we flew out we finally were able to leave. Now we are in Hawaii and I go back to work tomorrow ugh lol.
I am excited at what God is going to do here, I met a great church here name Reunion in Honolulu that we really enjoyed it. It has been a great year, I got married, I got transferred and I am getting ready to plant Kingdom Time and watch what God will do.  Till next time.

ObamaCare Fee is not a new tax??????

This week I am going to delve a little into the political since a major event took place. The Supreme Court voted on Obamacare. This opened up a lot in my mind. What else has he not told the truth about? We should be able to trust the President of the US in what he tells us. Sometimes the opposistion will say he is lying when he didn't as in President Bush in Iraq. But when he deliberatly lies to us that is untolerable.

1.During the time Obamacare was being bandied about to vote on everyone, everyone swore it was not a tax! They forced it down our throats as not a tax! Ironicly the only thing that saved it constitutionaly was that the Chief Justice knew that it was a tax.  This was the one of the larget tax increase in US HISTORY!!! Tax cuts huh?
First there already is a tax before that happens:

If he lets Bush tax rates go the existing 10% bracket will go away, and the lowest “new” bracket will be 15%. The existing 25% bracket will be replaced by the “new” 28% bracket; the existing 28% bracket will be replaced by the “new” 31% bracket; the existing 33% bracket will be replaced by the “new” 36 % bracket; and the existing 35% bracket will be replaced by the “new” 39.6% bracket.

The man promised while running that he would not raise taxes on middle class

Here is what he as done to date:

A 156 percent increase in the federal excise tax on tobacco:  On February 4, 2009, just sixteen days into his Administration, Obama signed into law a 156 percent increase in the federal excise tax on tobacco, a hike of 61 cents per pack.  The median income of smokers is just over $36,000 per year.
2. Obamacare Individual Mandate Excise Tax (takes effect in Jan 2014): Starting in 2014, anyone not buying “qualifying” health insurance must pay an income surtax according to the higher of the following

3. Obamacare Employer Mandate Tax (takes effect Jan. 2014):  If an employer does not offer health coverage, and at least one employee qualifies for a health tax credit, the employer must pay an additional non-deductible tax of $2000 for all full-time employees.  Applies to all employers with 50 or more employees. If any employee actually receives coverage through the exchange, the penalty on the employer for that employee rises to $3000. If the employer requires a waiting period to enroll in coverage of 30-60 days, there is a $400 tax per employee ($600 if the period is 60 days or longer). Bill: PPACA; Page: 345-346
Combined score of individual and employer mandate tax penalty: $65 billion/10 years
4. Obamacare Surtax on Investment Income (Tax hike of $123 billion/takes effect Jan. 2013):  Creation of a new, 3.8 percent surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single).  This would result in the following top tax rates on investment income: Bill: Reconciliation Act; Page: 87-93

5. Obamacare Excise Tax on Comprehensive Health Insurance Plans (Tax hike of $32 bil/takes effect Jan. 2018): Starting in 2018, new 40 percent excise tax on “Cadillac” health insurance plans ($10,200 single/$27,500 family).  Higher threshold ($11,500 single/$29,450 family) for early retirees and high-risk professions.  CPI +1 percentage point indexed. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,941-1,956

Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,959
9. Obamacare Flexible Spending Account Cap – aka “Special Needs Kids Tax” (Tax hike of $13 bil/takes effect Jan. 2013): Imposes cap on FSAs of $2500 (now unlimited).  Indexed to inflation after 2013. There is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children.  There are thousands of families with special needs children in the United States, and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education.  Tuition rates at one leading school that teaches special needs children in Washington, D.C. (National Child Research Center) can easily exceed $14,000 per year. Under tax rules, FSA dollars can be used to pay for this type of special needs educationBill: PPACA; Page: 2,388-2,389

The first day of the rest of my life

Sitting here looking at all I've been able to accomplish in my life. I've been blessed! But there was always something missing. In church you hear all the time of the God shaped hole in your life. Well I did not have that, I had a missing place in my heart a woman! Well one more day left of being single, one more day of going to sleep and waking up alone. Not having the part that completes me. If I have been able to accomplish all this, I have bought 2 houses before 43, had my Benz and retired from the Navy. Additionally prompted to Ordained Bishop in my church and planted a church in Japan, I did that only half of a man now I'm exited what will God do with me now? Er with us now? In the words of les mis one more day, one day more, one more day. Talk to you after I get back, Sat at 2pm I become Julie's husband:)

WOW, what a month.  The times they are a changing. I write this, I am 35 stories up looking at a awesome sunset in Hawaii, thinking of how blessed I am.  It hit me that in 18 days I will no longer be single, I will be married! How did this happen? It seems just like yesterday, I told God I was tired of the waiting and gave up. I was happy and would stay single. But just like God he chose that time to flip my world.  I met Julie and now I am getting ready to walk the last mile lol. Just kidding I am excited. But I digress, the reason I am in Hawaii is not to have a vacation, but because I accepted a promotion and transfer. So I am looking for a house and I think that is now done.
Moral is just because it looks like it wont happen, stand by and be ready.

Yesterday when I was young

Wow what a month! A couple of weeks ago a true icon of my adult life passed away. Whitney Houston passed then yesterday Davy Jones a true icon of my growing up. I felt like a part of my childhood died with him. He was more than a tv character to me, as a short teenager he was a icon. I looked at this star not six foot five or five eight but five three. Wow same as me! I looked at him and said I'm five three and I can be successful also. I loved the music, the show and always in the back of my mind was this short, British kid living in Malibu with his friends singing they got something to say, and I felt better about myself. Now he's gone and the Earth is a little less fun. RIP Davy you left the world a better place than you found it, you will be missed.

That was then...this is NOW

As I sit here just thinking, I look back on my life. I am content and happy. I realize I am a blessed man!  I think of in Pickens High so many years ago. I have lived the dream. I had the chance to see the world, to sail the seas. I retired from the Navy, that was something I NEVER thought I would do. I work in a great job, set financially, at my relatively young age(48) in March. Have preached the gospel around the world.
Now in May I close one chapter of my life and open the best one. With all I had I was missing something, someone to spend my life with. God has sent me Julie, and now I get to be what I have never been a husband! I will have my family! I am excited and happy with only one sadness that my father and her father are not here to see this.
Well like I said I am a blessed man a quote that comes to mind, all men die very few live, I am happy to say I am truly living and Godly contentment is great gain!
Till next time.

Life changes

The last few months have been the biggest changes in my life. This is a new year with new changes I am getting married in May. God has opened several doors in ministry.  I am scared of what is happening to this country, we have elected officials who disregard the Constitution so pray about the election that God allows his choice to be elected.  Till next time.

God bless
